Recently Google changed their algorithm to help weed out the content farms and spam sites. The majority of quality websites were affected positively, but there are some people are very unhappy about the changes. The whole idea behind the update was to make sure all searches pull quality sites with relevant material. I think this was a great step in the right direction. The future updates will be geared towards weeding out sites with their target keywords in the domain with less relevant content. All of Googles updates are helping to retrieve quality searches for consumers.
Search engine optimization involves several key items and these changes don't affect what still needs to be done on the average site to improve ranking. Some sites that reached high ranking based on their domain names may soon see a drop in ranking. These companies may just have to work a little harder on some other tactics. Any good SEO specialist knows search engine marketing is an ever changing field and what works today just may not work tomorrow.
